DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Debby was located near latitude 43.6 North, longitude 45.1 West. Debby is moving toward the northeast near 17 mph (28 km/h), and this motion with a further increase in forward speed is expected until the storm dissipates in another day or so. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast, and Debby could become an extratropical cyclone this afternoon or evening before dissipating on Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
