DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Leslie was located near latitude 36.6 North, longitude 57.2 West. Leslie is moving toward the east-northeast near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the east with slight increase in forward speed is expected on Saturday, and a motion toward the east-southeast is expected Saturday night through Monday. Maximum sustained winds remain near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. No significant change in strength is forecast during the next few days. Leslie is a large cyclone, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 290 miles (465 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 987 mb (29.15 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Large swells generated by Leslie will continue to affect portions of the eastern coast of the United States, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Greater and Lesser Antilles, and Atlantic Canada during the next few days.
