Fox News has been reporting this much of the afternoon. Saying it could affect US & FL by next week.
But...they're often wrong.

(The Forecast Lounge is the best place for discussion on long range extended outlooks on a system, so this seemed like a good post to start this thread with.)

I don't know about Florida being impacted, but I think Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas may have something to watch about a week from now. As far as its intensity is concerned, I think it does have the potential to become a potent system if it can manage to gain some latitude over time; otherwise, if it stays on a westerly course, I don't see it getting stronger than a tropical storm at the peak of its intensity.

I think 92L will develop,NHC gives it a 50/50 chance to happen within 48 hours. As far as the path it is to early to tell, but my guess would be somewhere close to the Yucatan.

Survived: 10 hurricanes in Rhode Island,Florida and the Yucatan of Mexico .
