Hurricane City boards now here
      #15303 - Sat Jun 12 2004 10:51 PM

Hurricane City has shut down thier boards, and Jim has asked me if I'd mind having them here. And it is, now this board is combined for flhurricane.com and hurricanecity.com .

Just FYI to all, and thanks to Jim and his storm statistics and audio shows, which are always great. This board has better moderation tools, and we will use them if stunts like what happened on Jim's board appear. We try to be fair to all and relax the rules as much as possible.

Jim's board was good and I hope many of the folks from there can enjoy it here as well -- I'm actually sorry to see him shut it down. But that's not what the focus of his site was about.

Best all,

- Mike C.

Just to make it clear -- It's just the boards, his site remains.

Mike C,

My bad, yes, the site remains. Welcome aboard to any HC posters. I'm glad the site is still up...one of it's best features was the "Early Alert/City At Risk" module. JimW had Long Island up a couple of times (either by request or because we actually were 'at risk') and hooked me into some great new links. I encourage any reader of this post to check out his site, especially during the "action" periods:

http://www.hurricanecity.com/

If your city (or area) is under the gun, JimW's got the links for you, including radars & webcams. Great stuff.

This is my first time posting here. I need to get used to it as I have been used to Jim's board for quite some time. Be patient with me as I love talking about tropical weather. Thanks!!

Wendy,

Welcome aboard. These guys are GREAT here. There are like seven mets and a whole bunch of others who could be. Then, there's me. The main board (top of the forum list) is where the action is, but feel free to post anywhere.

We've actually seen quite a bit of action today as we have a potential first TD sitting out in the GOM bathtub. Not sure if it will happen, but we're 'urging' it on.

Looks like JimW has decided to keep his board up and running, at least for a little while. Enough people e-mailed and PMed him to keep it going.
