I'm curious if things would be easier on the moderators if things were set up a-la Slashdot style. I know trolls aren't terribly common on here, but if Anonymous Cowards had a lower starting score, it'd be easier for the general viewing public to not see the posts in question. I suppose it'd be a bit of a hassle to use the system with a relatively small subset of people viewing.... but do you think it could/would help?

It's something I've considered, I just added a bunch of moderation tools tonight, so hopefully it won't be as bad.

I don't know if it is just me but seems as though we have had several annoying unregistered posters lately. This is my 2nd year coming here and I really love this site. I don't remember that many annoying incidents last season. Maybe you should not allow people to post at any time unless they are registered. It only takes a couple of seconds and why not just register. When things are really active and the board is busy they need to just move on to some other site.Just my two cents worth

Not sure that registering will weed out all the rif raf. May end up needing to block IP's even after registering.

No, it won't weed all of it out. But it might stop some of these unwanted posts. It's terrible to see this happen on such an informative site!
