I was curious as to whether anyone knows how long the average named storm/hurricane lasts, if there is an average? Irene seems to have been around now for, well it seems to be pushing a couple weeks now, is she pushing some kind of record for duration, if there is such a thing? I guess my question is what is the longest a storm/hurricane has lasted from naming untill it's dissapation.
Any response will be appreciated, thanks.

Use the above link and scroll down, look at the left hand side under Hurricane History. Lots of neat info and stats.
