I just noticed recently while looking over satellite loops of Hurricane Claudette from 2003 that right before it hit Texas, it briefly looked a lot like some of those northern category three hurricanes ( i.e.: Kate (2003), Alberto (2000)) and I watched the satellite loop and it reminded me a bit of Jeanne. I think Claudette probably became a Category 3 before landfall. I did hear somewhere that there was a possibility that Claudette was a Category 2 when it made landfall.
Any thoughts on this?
