10N/46W & 25N/67W [Re: hurricanegator]

(Since the referenced tropical wave was not mentioned in the current Main Page leadoff article, this post and others have been moved to the appropriate Forum.)

I was checking the WV Loop:

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/tatl/loop-wv.html

Big bend going on 25N/67W I see the dry air, but it sure looks like it wants to wrap around itself.

10N/46W: it's "hanging" in there
The water temp should be warm enough, if anything decides to pop.

From Tropical Weather Discussion on NHC:

Quote:

WITHIN THIS BREAK...WATER VAPOR
IMAGERY INDICATES A VIGOROUS MID- TO UPPER-LEVEL COLD LOW NEAR
25N66W MOVING LITTLE.

So that is a mostly upper cold low that is spinning off there. But it would be interesting if something developed out there this early in the year.

Here is and update on the 26/N/76W
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
200 PM EDT FRI JUN 6 2008

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

1. A WESTWARD-MOVING TROPICAL WAVE IS APPROACHING THE WINDWARD ISLANDS.
UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN UNFAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL
CYCLONE DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER...THIS SYSTEM COULD PRODUCE
SHOWERS...THUNDERSTORMS AND GUSTY WINDS OVER PORTIONS OF THE
WINDWARD ISLANDS LATER TODAY AND ON SATURDAY.

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/tatl/loop-wv.html

and the ULL is still churning away.
It looks like it is getting sqished between the High in the Atlantic, and the Tropical Wave approaching.
