At 07/00Z, Invest 95L was located about 950 miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands near 8.3N 36.6W with winds of 25 knots and pressure of 1009MB. The system, although surrounded by dry air, has maintained good convection and is moving to the west at 19 knots. Windshear is light and expected to remain low for at least the next three days and the SSTs are 29C. As noted by 'typhoon tip' in the Forecast Lounge the western extension of the Atlantic high pressure ridge (Bermuda High) is expected to intensify significantly by Tuesday/Wednesday and will likely limit the northern component of future movement. Some additional development of this system seems likely over the next few days.
