JEANNE IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 5 MPH... 7 KM/HR... AND
GENEREAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

That's from the latest advisory by Forecaster Stewart.

Good god...you guys sure posted a lot since I checked out after midnight...took me 55 minutes to read them all...and boy were they good...

CFHC mentioned on the radio, huh? Nice.

Bonus points? Sure, I don't have a monopoly on 'em...feel free to award them as you see fit.

Richard, how do you fit a 6'7" 275lb body into a tub? Must be like the tub President Taft had installed in the White House after he got stuck in the previous tub...OK let's not go there.

I haven't had any time to check anything but the boards, so I have no commentary as of yet. Unfortunately, a little birdy who is quite good at predicting these bad boys e-mailed me with some unsettling news...I have to check the rest of my resources to see where Jeanne is gonna go...

I will be preparing my crow-munching forecast for Jeanne today.

Looks like the sleep-deprived zombies (like me) will have another sleepless weekend

Must be the season of the witch.

Well, Jeanne may make a run on the East Coast, but history is certainly not on her side. She would be the *first* Sep Cat 1 o2 hurricane in her location in history to hit FL, and only the third to hit the EC:

I found this posted to alt.callahans by
Fax Paladin <faxpal@swbell.net>

It seemed an appropriate thing to add...

"Cyclone of New Orleans," TTTO "City of New Orleans":

Turned on CNN at my sister's
To see if I should shrug or I should cry
There's John Zarella standing in the Quarter
The only one who's standing still and dry
(spoken: He's not even *wearing* his coat!)

So I hug my sister, grab my hat
Pack up the ferrets, dog and cat
Get back to New Orleans around dawn
Now it's been a week, I'm settled in
I kick back in my chair and grin
Grab the clicker, turn the TV on...

spoken: You have *got* to be kidding me...

Hello, America, how are ya?
Say, don't you know it's on another run?
And it's raining in the city of New Orleans
From that freakin' *undead* storm that they call Ivan
(Somebody put a stake in that thing, willya?)
From that freakin' undead storm that they call Ivan...

I'm watching Tampa's Channel 8 right now...track shows maybe between WPB and Melbourne...as a Cat 2 at landfall.

I'm supposed to go to Port St. Joe's tomorrow for a week. I might be better off there than here at this point of the forecast. Sheesh.

All I can say is with great care I can't really stand in the shower without bumping my head and if I do, all I can get wet is my chest down So, a bath it is.... And I can't go iinto discount stores and buy clothes either, so they are well worn before discarding...

I hope you enjoyed *your* sleep.... I didn't get any....too many questions and no one but 'little ole me' to attempt answers till just a short while ago.... G'Night for a while....

The good news is, if there really is any, is it appears we will be on the west side of the storm if she decides to go the path of the NRC. Again that is if, she has been pretty fickle..

As for firsts, here's another one. I have a better chance of determining the outcome of Scott Peterson's trial than I do of determining where Jeanne will make landfall.

You need a C-130 with both real Butterflies *and* Butterfly Ballots; fly up, open the back, dump 'em both in the path of the storm.

Re: Ivan buoy reports.... [Re: Allison]
      #30313 - Thu Sep 23 2004 02:32 PM

Ivan's winds are now up to 60 mph, although the wind isn't supposed to be a big deal from this storm. I am wondering about rain here in Beaumont. Isn't Ivan supposed to be moving slowly? Winds are supposed to pick up in the next few hours but looks like the eye may be going in around Lake Charles. What do you think? Interesting what Ivan did. Funny, we predicted from the beginning Ivan might end up somewhere in this area.
