Area of Interest - South of Dominican Republic

At 11/12Z a weak circulation, probably transitory, was noted at 16.8N 69.6W. Movement of system was slowly to the west with convection displaced to the east and south by northerly shear. Some banding features are developing to the southeast. Strong shear exists to the north of the wave, however, this becomes much lighter to the west of the system near eastern Cuba. SSTs near 28.5C increase to 29.5C in the vicinity of Jamaica and eastern Cuba. Some slow development is possible in a couple of days.

Well, the radar out of PR is lit up like a christmas tree. So there's definitely some type of organized convection going on.

Check the convection down there this afternoon, looks impressive and still not moving much. If somethings going to happen, this looks like the best place around for the time being....More rain for Florida this weekend ?????????...Weatherchef
