I feel bad for all the mets...they sure deserve a raise after last hurricane season and now with an active season this year.
I don't. Without the canes all ya have to do 8 months out of the year is say mostly sunny with 30% chance of showers after 2PM!
Hurricane season is from June 1st to November 30th.
Six months out of the year.

I need to plan for monday next week to leave Sarasota for South GA with 30 kids.
I would plan on leaving Sunday AM instead, unless you are going to the GA coast and then I would probably wait a few more days and possibly just cancel the trip.

All kidding aside,I love where I live,it is soooo pretty.I just know that we have been very lucky here. And most of the people I talk to here say it is just a matter of time, and with a very active year, the odds are against us.NHC did a great job on ,and the track for Emily so far is not great for SE Florida.I have been through Hurricanes before, just not a major one.I have been tracking Hurricanes for about 30 years now,I had to learn something.I really do not want one to affect my area.Seeing Punta Gorda 1 week after hit changed me forever. Most of you in here are great!!It is going to be a crazy year, and I respect your insight.Even those in Florida who did not get hit, were still stressed out by having our homes boarded up for weeks.Good luck to all!!

This is just fantastic...ALL the models agree? I have to ask this question: I'm leaving for Chicago Wednesday and coming back Monday night. Can anyone hazard a guess as to when this might affect the US mainland...IF that happens? Just trying to think ahead in case I have to change my flight times. Thanks!

Bob, how could that POSSIBLY happen when it's just barely near Cuba on Saturday? Guess I'll just have to keep watching .

appears (in my nonexpert view) to be 6 days (give or take) from affecting the US. If you are flying into Tampa (which I guess you are), you will of course have more time that if you were to be flying into Miami. You may end up needing to come home on Sunday, but I would hold off on changing any plans just yet. Have fun in the Windy City

Wayy to early to tell Colleen, if it went on a track in days (5) nearing the bahamas, (6)bahamas and nearing S.FLA, then next Monday somewhere around the state.
scottsvb......too early to tell mainly cause of where it goes by Hispaniola or over it.

Why do you say not a GOM event? personally how they have been going it may just go under Florida and then to LA as i dont see anything that is going to take it NW.
Heck the does not even show it.But i do think it will be a GOM event unless you can show me the high breaking down which i dont see wish it would but i dont see it.

Bob, that does not eliminate the possibility of a GOM storm. I'd be careful about this one, it is still very early.
