Solid maps...much better that NOAA's 'thin black line." One enhancement would be to show the future projected track with days and times rather than showing the position in hours from the present ('12' hours, '24' hours etc. ).
From an information standpoint, this would make it more clear exactly when a storm is going to come ashore. Thanks!

I will echo many other comments already posted. Love the new maps, but miss the conical street level landfall wind distribution maps from last year. Having lived through three of the four storms to hit Florida last year, I can tell you those were very helpful to making decisions about board up and evacuation. It would great to bring those back too.

I always come to this site when hurricanes are active, I love the new map! lets pray that people are leaving and loss of life will be minimal!

Great maps and very informative for making decisions. I only have one request and it's for both flhurricane.com and weather.com, make the maps larger. Most of the computer world uses 1024x768 or larger resolutions. If I did use 800x600 I'd rather have a larger map I had to scroll around to see then a smaller one. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for helping us to stay safe.

Your maps are great and very detailed keep it up
Is it possible to have it in animation like the start of the hurricane to the predicted end with speeds and velocity

In that case, the only other thing I liked about last years maps that still apply to this new design is the lighter map coloration that provided for better contrasting. This new map makes it difficult to find coastlines and land definition. The lighter color made it much easier.

The maps are nice and clean - crisp. I miss the cylinder of hurricane force wind swath. I think it shows the magnitude of possible destruction effectively. I really appreciate how concisely communicates!

I was going to e-mail a suggestion that a legend be added to the map that describes the wind radii rings. Placing this graphic somewhere on the map page would be helpful.

These are by far the easiest to understand maps I've seen. The computer model maps are the best.
On the zoomed in land fall maps, a satellite image overlay would give an extra perspective of the land areas.

I concur on all counts. I'm showing the maps off to the rest of the 53rd WRS and brief off it daily during the season.

The wind radii ploted on these maps is derived from the official forecast data provided by the and NWS. We just make it look awesome (no modesty).

i miss the animated model plots. i found them to be very interesting in suggesting the trends of the different models. could they be added to the very lovely new format?
