Feb 23rd GOM Sea Temperatures

Quick look at NDBC's buoy 42001-Mid Gulf of Mexico Buoy.

Checking yesterday's GOM sea temperature at the Mid Gulf Buoy.
Peak temp. was measured between 10Z and 11Z.
Temperature of 25.8C or 78.44F

This is the second highest temperature on Feb. 23rd since 1992 (14 years).

The highest temperature on Feb. 23rd, was recorded on Feb. 23, 2002. With a temperature of 26.1C or 78.98F.

Yesterday's temperature ties the Feb 23, 2001 temp. for 2nd highest.

By the way. The lowest temperature on Feb. 23rd. During the 1992-2006 period. Was set on Feb. 23, 2003. At 20.9C or 69.62F
