What does oil do to a hurricane and how does affect a storm thart hits the gulf coast?

Won't do anything to a hurricane. BUT it will sure be a bigger mess if we don't get that mess cleaned up before one moves into the area.
So far the wind directions have kept a great deal of the spill corralled. Except for the product that appeared on Chandelier Island and Dauphin Island.

Does anyone thing this oil spill will affect the hurricane season ???? At least in the gulf?? or the atlantic or east coast ???36 million gallons and counting!!! This is horrible!!!

Oil impact on the hurricane won't be much, but the impact a major hurricane could have on the coast could be large depending on where the hurricane traverses. If it is west of the leak, it would drive a lot of the oil toward the coast, and if there is surge it could leave oil on land, which then could become a fire risk on top of everything else.
If it were to the east, it would tend to drive away the oil from the coast and disperse it more.
