What kind of potential threat would Emily pose to East-Central Florida and, specifically, Orlando International Airport by Saturday around noon?

It's much too early to tell. If Emily tracks east of the state as a moderate TS, then the peninsula would be on the weak side of the storm. Orlando is a bit inland from the coast, so based on current information (which isn't very reliable), I'd expect scattered tropical showers with slightly gusty winds in the Orlando area on Saturday. That can and, most likely, will change significantly over the next few days.

Nothing really based on the odds, if what the current models and forecast track shows verifies..,. Ie, if it stays east,
If it crosses the peninsula, it would be a lot more. It honestly is too early to say and I would be fooling you otherwise. The future of Emily is still cloudy, until it gets near or over Haiti/Dominican republic it is virtually impossible to give you a real answer with a straight face.
I'd recommend checking out NWS Melbourne's discussions, or see the website for them in the meantime.

I would think through Sunday/Monday you are probably okay ...however, if other flights are cancelled the connecting flights might make for annoying travel. I would think for now Orlando is okay, but you'd have to check back.

Thank you all for your answers and insights. I do realize that Emily is too early to call, but its good to hear what you guys can guesstimate about it anyway!
I am picking up my 14 year old son in Orlando International returning to FL after a 5 week stay with my family in Argentina and I just hope that he will not land somewhere else in FL as the poor kid will be exhausted by the long flight.
Looking at the graph, I get a feeling that Emily's track is moving out into the Atlantic in which case it might turn into a non-event. We shall see.
