Melbourne NWS reports a wind gust to 51mph at Valkaria as the leading edge of the tropical wave to the east and southeast moved into the east central Florida area.

At 2:53pm EDT Vero Beach reported a wind gust to 45mph.

Most of the first wave of rain missed us here in Plant City but it was VERY blustery right about 4:15 as a developing band of what ended up being heavy thunderstorms passed rapidly by us. A second wave was developing behind the first but lost all of its uplift and died out before it got here.
