Here in Cedar Key, we're at 34 mph with gusts in the 40's, though the wind has really been picking up the last half hour. Rain has been sporadic from sprinkle to downpour. Looks like it may make landfall somewhere between here and the Steinhatchee area. Biggest worry for us will be the coasting flooding and storm surge in the low lying areas.

Just noticed that the official report from Cedar Key at 3pm (19Z) had winds from due south at 35 knots gusting to 44 knots (50mph) and the pressure was at 1000.4MB and falling. I'd guess that your winds should peak in the next hour or two. Reports near landfall locations are often difficult to obtain.

Far away to the North In Raleigh.. but it's rained all day in heavy bands coming up from the south..and the ground is saturated and when and if we do get strong winds from what is left over from Andrea it is going to bring down more trees than it might otherwise.

Saturated SOIl is a problem in this region with red clay and some trees have shallow roots.

New Smyrna Beach, just south of Daytona:

The day began with some heavy rains, strong squalls, but now, at 6:12PM we actually see the sun and some blue sky amongst scattered clouds. Judging from the radar, we are just inside one of the bands of dry air being wrapped around Andrea. The kids actually went to have fun at the swimming pool. No way this is going to last more than a few hours, as the radar clearly shows a band of strong rain heading our way across the peninsula. But for now, so far so good.

Cheers!

Almost 2 inches of rain overnight and breezy here in Wilmington. We have had peeks of sun this morning expecting more rain later. Kure Beach Pier reported steady winds at 35 mph with a gust of 51.

The final tally here in Plant City was right at 4 inches of rainfall. Add that to the 0.95 we had 2 nights before and we have had a wet week for the beginning of June! Looks like more coming after the dry back-lash from Andrea moves back northward.
