Yea,what do you think people did before all this insane bottled water craze?
This drive me NUTS too. I'm still stock piling ice. It automatically converts to water when its cooling properties are exhausted
Lines in S FL for gas are reaching crisis levels, people are already losing their temper (and minds). Glad I fueled up last night, because today is an exercise in patience. First ATM I visited was offline but second was fine with only 1 car ahead of me.

I no longer have relatives in Florida. (They moved to Texas now). But I advised them to do what I do regarding water storage for emergencies. There are a lot of food products such a fruit juice, soda, Malt and other brewing supplies, etc that are transported as concentrates in large food grade containers that by law cannot be reused. If you look around you can find these available cheap or sometimes free in 5 gal or 10 gallon jugs, buckets with lids, and even 55 gallon drums. They can be sealed, so that they do not spill or get contaminated easy. I don't think they are recommended for long term water storage, but I know a lot of folks that use them. After a careful cleaning they seem more suitable than a garbage can at least for short term storage since they are made of food grade plastic. It is probably too late to think about this now, but I don't know why more people do not take advantage of them.

ST. PETERSBURG --
9/7/2017 - 12:20 p.m. update: Based on an abundance of caution, Pinellas County commission approves mandatory evacuation for Zone A residents starting Friday morning.
Decisions about further evacuations will be made by officials tomorrow.
"A storm going up the Atlantic Coast will not cause any major storm surge to the Tampa Bay area," said Bay News 9 Meteorologist Diane Kacmarik. "There are no watches or warnings issued for the Tampa Bay area, either."

How does this affect vacation guests in hotels and condos??
Edit: Everybody goes, nobody allowed on the beaches without a pass. I was scheduled to work on Clearwater Beach tomorrow, but won't be able to get there.
So thousands of Florida visitors will scrambling for hotel rooms! UGH

I called because I didn't know my zone and their website said it couldn't find my address. The Pinellas County EOC employee looked up my address and told me I was in Zone B and that B & C would be mandatory evac 7am Saturday morning. This was at 1:45 this afternoon.
