Watching the Northwest Caribbean...
      #75573 - Sun Jun 17 2007 03:56 PM

For those that are on the board today is there anything looming out in the tropics or anything with potential that could spring up in the next up coming days? I've read on another blog that there's a stationary front draped out in the Atlantic that could spin up something so it has to be watched any truth to this?

Absolutely right.. all the models are hinting at a warm core system in either the GOM or off the east coast of Florida. The 12Z NOGAPS has switched from GOM to the east coast, GFS has a very weak low off the east coast, NAM has a weak but nice spin near Tampa in the GOM, UKMET.. got to check it out first lol. I looked at the forecast windshear and it show that shear will decrease over the next 36-48 hours in the GOM but will be marginal off the east coast of Florida. So where will it be, GOM or east coast of FL? Lets just keep an eye out on it for now. I think the low is predicted to form out of the meso-cyclone in the southeast.
