Charley is gone. Too many people chose not to evacuate Punta Gorda.

Some evacuated to where the storm finally hit. Being as there was no clear direction in which to travel, it is not surprising.

Not knowing where to go, or if one could afford where they were going, are problems that need to be addressed.


That is why substantial shelters need to be provided for hurricane evacuees all across Florida. Everyone could be sure that the road they traveled would end at a safe destination where care would be provided.


Anyone living in a mobile home should go somewhere with better cover in any hurricane. Even a category 1.
