Don't really have any great ideas for you. I do know this from Frances and Charley: when people were told to evacuate, they were told not to go too far from home. I think they wanted people to be able to get back in as soon as humanly possible. It's still a ways off, and it could still go anywhere, although as time narrows down so does the window of where it would go. You can always make a reservation at a hotel and then cancel it within 24 hours if necessary. You certainly don't want to be 10-12 hours away; at least I know people here did not want to be. That's my own little humble opinion, which is worth about .01!
