Quote: One of my beachside neighbors evacuated to Tampa during Frances but is staying with friends on the mainland in Melbourne this time.
I think a lot of people are reconsidering the long range evac plans. I know I was considering Georgia last time as a destination but it was miserable up there too. Big storms like this, there's no place to drive to that's much better than staying put. I mean they evacuate people TO where I live and I have a sturdy building. Last thing we need is an extra million or so people on I-95.
