Char and FtlaudBob - where do you live exactly? Due to the way storm went south I'm assuming more along the lines of the Daina Beach/Hollywood area. As stated above for me in NW Broward (Margate/Coral Springs) the turn south saved us from the eye wall winds, even the rain was not that heavy.
The GFDL model was right on the money for this one - it predicted the SW motion, while all the others had storm going west and coming out in Naples.
