The last supplemental vortex report suggested that hurricane-force winds extend out about 80 miles to the NW of the center (if my math is correct), which is approaching the maximum radius of hurricane-force winds noted in Katrina. It was expected that Rita would grow in size, though it is unclear at this point whether it will grow to be as large as Katrina or not.
