Area of Interest - East of Nicaragua

Broad area of lower pressure and active convection associated with a tropical wave in the southwest Caribbean Sea. Some cyclonic turning off the central coast of Nicaragua near 13N 83W at 28/14Z, moving to the north northwest at 8kts. SST of 28C with negligible wind shear in the area and light steering currents. Wind shear increases north of 20N. Any development should be slow to occur as the system meanders to the northwest during the next few days. Looks like the Atlantic basin is beginning to awaken from its long winter slumber. ED
