Was up in Nebraska the week prior and flew through Memphis during the midst of this event. Got in around a tornado-producing storm to the NW of town and out in the midst of a severe thunderstorm after a mechanical delay. Memphis flight control decided to try to send some flights early, causing the airline workers to make airport-wide boarding announcement. One maintenance worker said out loud, "man, I hope it doesn't rain when I get off." Needless to say, he had bigger things to worry about that day.
