The "Blob" looks less like a blob and more like a Tropical Depression from the latest EastAtlant Infrared Satellite imagery. I think I see some banding features around the outer edges of this area, and there does appear to be some cyclonic turning within the convection, though I'm not sure where precisley it appears to be centered at.
