As of 11:45pm CDT, Tropical Depression Hermine is creating a potentially devastating flooding situation in central Texas along and either side of the Interstate 35. A feeder band which began setting up maybe six hours or so ago continues triggering redevelopment of very heavy to torrential showers and thunderstorms training over the same counties, hour after hour.
Rainfall estimates along and either side of I35 in central Texas, including the capital city of Austin, are now approaching double digits, with some doppler estimates of 10" or more in the city of Austin. If this training continues for much longer, significant. potentially historic life-threatening flooding could readily ensue.
