October 21 and we have a Cat 3 in the Atlantic threatening Bermuda. This being a highly active season, I wonder what the historical data shows for late season major hurricanes. Epsilon formed in the mid-Atlantic in October. That is not a climatological/historical region for storm development this late in the season. With 5 - 6 weeks left in the season, what other unusual developments might be in store?
