It appears Ida may have just had a 10mb or so drop between one recon pass and the very next (same mission). This is phenomenally rapid intensification, if verified. As Mike notes, this leg also went through the Right Front Quadrant (RFQ) and the wind speeds found could support an upgrade to Cat 4 shortly.
