This loop illustrates sprawling banding deep in the NW Caribbean, across Cuba and the south half of Florida, and most of the eastern Gulf of Mexico:

Once clear from Cuba, 4 soon to be Debby will be in a very favorable environment conducive for development next 36-48 hours. A slower motion could allow for a strong Cat 1 at landfall if the drier air lurking over inland Mississippi/Alabama doesn't get pulled in.
