Soon-to-be-Bertha has continued to struggle with shear and dry air, and the high-quality AI ensembles have really backed off any confidence that the cyclone will become a hurricane that tracks further west than Louisiana. There are several that still take the system further west, a much smaller percentage than what the images below might make it look owing to survivor bias, but even of those that do, they advertise a much weaker feature, maybe barely even a depression, limping its way to the Texas coast.
