This ascat pass shows it very much elongated to the southwest, the split areas visible on the satellite below also hint at it. Close but just not there, needs to be more consistent for an el nino year.

Similar siutation happened with a few waves last year, one off Florida, and another one that entered the Caribbean. Just too elongated and can't maintain a decent circulation long enough to be classified.

Still could today, watch the center to see if the sw weakens and lightning or the general center tries to pop.
