Caller from Cat Island, Bennett's Harbor area - Winds kicked in hard at 2 p.m. They have continued blowing all day and are still continuing to increase. They are just trying to hang on until it's over. Big trees fallen over, none left standing, limbs all over. Roof and building damage. Swimming pool has been overflowed since mid-afternoon.
South Cat Island has taken severe damage. Power poles down everywhere.
-------------------- Survived Charley at Cat 4 under a staircase. Won't do that again. I watch SW Florida and Abaco primarily.
