my guess at landfall in the gulf is high-end Cat III between Matagorda, TX and Marsh Island, LA

I dont see anything that will steer Rita northward into eastern Louisiana, just as i didnt see anything that would have steered Katrina into the panhandle like the original predictions indicated--remember they were moving it eastward for a day and a half before moving the forecast track westward again
