Surfline.com gives a really good surf forecast for both coasts and the Gulf, so they might be a good place to start. If you're looking for data to make your own forecast, then the NDBC webpage (http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov) or output from the WaveWatch III model (http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/main_int.html) might be good places to start from.
