Tornado time again

SPC has a huge area from the Arklatex into the Lower Ohio Valley clean across the Deep South into Georgia progged for a severe weather outbreak today. I've seen speculation that they'll put up another of those dreaded high risk regions up for the Arkansas-Tennessee region that usually serves as a punching back for strong tornadoes. I'm sure they're not happy to see that... after a rough late winter/early spring, April was a lot less violent than it could have been (notable exceptions being stuff like what happened in Suffolk, VA). No tornado fatalities since the March 15 outbreak lasted a good six weeks, until some folks bought it in Arkansas on May 2 (apparently there was a fatality up around Greensboro Thursday night as well).
Looks like some of the weather will come through here tomorrow.. the models are pile-driving a small but vigorous speed max across the Piedmont past here tomorrow morning... should be the focus of a secondary cyclogenesis near the Fall Line that heads northeast towards the Outer Banks during the day. I'm somewhat optimistic that things won't be too hairy around here since the worst of it should be passing through my region in the mid-late morning... of course this is one of those systems where it looks like dynamics can potentially compensate for the kind of instability limitations that normally govern what time of day severe weather can brew. Case and point is that about the only severe thunderstorm in the country early this morning came through around 6 AM and woke me up. Got a little bit of hail around here according to spotter reports... thought I heard some on the roof but didn't go check it myself. Wasn't much, I'm sure.
Anyhow, looks like we've got a pretty good late spring storm on the way. Good spread of the Mid-South and Deep South are gonna get thumped this weekend.
