Initial Outlook for the 2008 Season

Been troubled by something in the last few weeks: 2004 WAS the worst tornado year on record. I say was because 2008 is on a pace to surpass that. We had 16 named tropical cyclones on 2004 and MANY land falls (who can forget). Anybody have any data on the comparison's of these two years weather patterns to date and whether there will be any contiuned linkage? Is 2004 a good analog to 2008?
