Early Season Stays Busy
      Wed Jul 16 2003 11:04 PM

TD5 has strengthened to Tropical Storm Danny in the central Atlantic. Danny is moving to the north northwest and will move generally NNW to N to NNE over the next couple of days and eventually to the northeast after that. Should strengthen a bit more before the cold waters above 40N signal its demise in about 5 days.

A tropical wave near 10N 35W at 17/03Z has slowly developed better structure in the past 24 hours. Its certainly got enough latitude to become a Tropical Depression in a day or two and conditions favor slow development.

The early season has been uncommonly busy and it looks like the trend will continue.
Cheers,
ED
