At 22/12Z, Tropical Depression 10 (upgrade expected at 22/15Z) was located in the central tropical Atlantic at 12.2N 35.7W with winds of 30 knots and central pressure of 1007MB. Movement west to west northwest at 15-20 knots. Circulation envelope and convection have increased considerably overnight. In about 24 hours the TD is going to encounter some strong westerly shear so development likely to be rather slow - at least initially - with this system. If the TD survives the shear, the cyclone will get captured by the same trough that is soon to influence Isaac and it should keep this system at sea with an eventual turn to the north. ED
