Today marks the first day of the 2014 Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season, which starts a half month before the Atlantic does, and ends on November 30th, just like the Atlantic basin.
Flhurricane typically does not keep watch on the eastern pacific, as we intentionally focus on the Atlantic basin. But if unusual circumstances happen, or it approaches Hawaii, more info on the pacific storms will be featured.
As a rather wet event occurs for Florida today, we start to look at what will likely be a fairly average hurricane season in the Atlantic. We're approaching 9 years without a landfalling hurricane in Florida, and we hope we can pass that. But we'll be watching.
Again, not too much new with the site this year, but we will be fixing and changing things through the season, slowly.
There isn't any tropical activity to speak of in either the Atlantic or Eastern Pacific today.
