A potent-looking tropical wave has just exited western Africa and is already showing some signs of wanting to slowly develop, although conditions are not favorable in the near-term. However, late this weekend into next week conditions could become favorable, with NHC odds of 20% over the next 5 days:

1. A tropical wave along the west coast of Africa is moving westward at about 15 mph. Environmental conditions could become more conducive for some development over the weekend while the system moves well south and southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
