.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 146 PM CDT Wed Apr 8 2026

Temperatures and moisture will increase this week and through the
weekend with southeasterly flow. PWATs will increase to 1.4-1.7"
late this week and into the weekend. Meanwhile, a shortwave will
move across South Texas, leading to a low to medium (30-60%) chance
of showers and thunderstorms Thursday, then decreasing to a low (15-
30%) chance through the weekend.

We will continue to monitor for minor coastal flooding along the
Middle Texas coast through the weekend, likely due to persistent
onshore flow and long period swell. Minor coastal flooding with up
to 1 ft MSL inundation will be possible during periods of high tide
into the weekend.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 146 PM CDT Wed Apr 8 2026

Brief MVFR ceilings will be continue across the western terminals
through this afternoon, so have included a TEMPO group for LRD.
Otherwise, expect VFR conditions across South Texas until tonight,
when MVFR ceilings will develop. There is low confidence in IFR
conditions so have not put a mention of this in the TAFs but felt it
is important to mention.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 146 PM CDT Wed Apr 8 2026

Southeasterly gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) breeze will become more
moderate (BF 4) this weekend. Periods of fresh (BF 5) breezes are
expected late this weekend and early into next week. Low to medium
(30-60%) chances for rain will develop Thursday and continue through
the weekend.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 146 PM CDT Wed Apr 8 2026

Increasing moisture, generally light winds, and a continued low to
medium chance for precipitation will inhibit fire weather concerns
through early next week. Elevated fire weather conditions are not
expected at this time.
