FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA
916 AM CDT SAT OCT 9 2004

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  TERREBONNE PARISH IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA
  
* UNTIL 1215 PM CDT

* AT 910 AM CDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED ABOUT 10 
HOMES WERE FLOODED AND ROADS WERE CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER IN THE
TOWNS OF CHAUVIN...DULAC...MONGEGUT AND POINTE AU CHIEN. THE 
COMBINATION OF 4 INCHES OF HEAVY RAIN THAT FELL DURING EARLY THIS 
MORNING WILL BE SLOW TO DRAIN DUE TO TIDAL FLOODING.  

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS 
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. 
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
