The National Weather Service in New Orleans has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Livingston Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  West Central Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 1100 PM CDT.

* At 938 PM CDT, The public reported flooding, caused by
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Radar
  estimates between 5 and 7 inches of rain have fallen in the warned
  area. Flash flooding is already occurring in areas.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Independence, Albany, Natalbany and Tickfaw.

This includes the following Interstate...
Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 36 and 42.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
