.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1222 PM CDT Mon Apr 6 2026

Drier conditions with sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs
peaking in the lower to mid 70s this afternoon. Northeasterly
winds today will be a little lighter, generally around 10 mph.
For tonight, partly cloudy skies and light winds are forecast.
The lows will be in the mid to upper 40s over the Brazos Valley
and Piney Woods region, the upper 40s to lower 50s over the rest
of the inland portions, and the lower 60s along the coast.
Tranquil conditions will prevail on Tuesday with east-southeast
winds at 5-10 mph and partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will
continue to warm up and the highs on Tuesday are expected to be
in the mid to upper 70s for much of Southeast TX.

Southeasterly winds return on Wednesday and we will have low
level moisture from the Gulf moving across Southeast TX during
the day. Meanwhile, a weak upper level trough is to pass through
East TX and with the increased moisture, we could see some
isolated showers develop. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies
with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

There is a chance for higher rain chances during the second half
of the week, with isolated to scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms in the forecast each day through the end of the
week. We will also have a very gradual warming trend with highs
ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s on Thursday to the lower
80s for most of Southeast TX by the weekend. Winds will generally
be southeasterly at 6-12 mph during the daytime. The potential
for patchy fog during the overnight to early morning period may
also increase near the end of the work week.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1222 PM CDT Mon Apr 6 2026

MARINE...

ENE winds and seas will continue to subside today and tonight.
The Small Craft Advisory for the offshore waters is in effect
through 7 PM this evening. Winds will turn E Tuesday and SE
Tuesday night. Light to occasionally moderate onshore winds are
expected to prevail through the upcoming weekend. Winds will be
strongest during the early night to mid-morning period and Caution
Flags may be required at times. A swell due to stronger winds
over the eastern and northern Gulf waters could elevate our local
seas during the second half of the week and seas could rise to 4-6
feet or more. Chance for showers and thunderstorms can be
expected Tuesday night into the end of the work week.
