.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1233 AM CDT Tue Apr 7 2026
Slightly below normal temperatures will continue tomorrow with near
normal temperatures returning Wednesday with above normal
temperatures not returning until late this weekend. Our next chances
for rain will be late this work week as a shortwave is expected to
move across the area. Sufficient moisture and the provided lift from
the shortwave will promote medium (30-45%) chances for rain Thursday
through Friday. One of the most interesting wrinkles in the forecast
will be the potential for coastal flooding. Tide levels combined
with wind and swell values show the expectation that coastal
flooding will once again remain below criteria values, however, the
long period swells have pushed water to the dunes at spots across
the Middle Texas Coast during times of high tide. Therefore, will
not issue an advisory and will defer to the morning shift tomorrow
to evaluate conditions and view webcams before high tide at noon.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1233 AM CDT Tue Apr 7 2026
VFR conditions are expected for the entirety of the period with
generally light winds through the beginning of the period. Winds
will go up to around 10-15 knots heading into the afternoon.
&&
.MARINE...
Issued at 1233 AM CDT Tue Apr 7 2026
An easterly gentle to moderate breeze (BF 3-4) will continue Tuesday
before veering to the southeast Tuesday night. Dry conditions are
expected through Tuesday night with low chances (20-30%) return
Wednesday and increasing to medium chances (40-55%) Thursday through
Friday.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 1233 AM CDT Tue Apr 7 2026
Although drier conditions will continue through Wednesday, slight
rain and thunderstorm chances return to the forecast late this work
week. Relative humidity values will remain above critical
thresholds. Therefore, elevated fire weather conditions are not
expected.
