* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents.
For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 8 feet
expected in the surf zone.
* WHERE...For the Beach Hazards Statement, the beaches north of
Cape Hatteras. For the High Surf Advisory, Hatteras Island
beaches.
* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, until 8 PM EDT this
evening. For the High Surf Advisory, from noon Wednesday to 11
AM EDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High surf and dangerous rip currents may
linger beyond Thursday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
