.DISCUSSION...

Temperatures will gradually increase to near normal on Wednesday,
then to above normal by late this weekend. Fortunately, low to
medium (20-45%) rain chances will return Thursday and Friday as a
shortwave moves across the area. Low rain chances will linger into
the weekend.

Minor coastal flooding will continue to be an issue along the Middle
Texas Coast as tide levels combine with persistent onshore flow and
long period swell. Guidance has not had a good handle on the
inundation; however, water has reached or nearly reached the dunes
for the last few days. With swell period increasing through late in
the week, it is important to note that minor coastal flooding is
possible during times of high tide.

VFR conditions continue through much of the TAF period with MVFR
CIGs developing early tomorrow morning but should return to VFR by
the afternoon. Winds will be light and variable overnight then
settling out of the southeast tomorrow afternoon/evening with no
significant wind gusts to mention at this time.

A gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) east to southeast breeze will continue
through the week before increasing to moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) and
turning more southeasterly late this week and into the weekend. A
low rain chance (20-30%) will return Wednesday, then increase to a
medium chance (40-55%) through the weekend.

Although drier conditions will continue through Wednesday, low to
medium (20-45%) rain and thunderstorm chances return to the forecast
late this work week. Relative humidity values will remain above
critical thresholds. Therefore, elevated fire weather conditions are
not expected.
